Let’s take the other option seriously for a minute, because it's real.
Doing this research yourself is completely doable. The filings are free on sec.gov. The math is arithmetic. I taught the whole four-test screen in an email a couple of weeks back and gave it away on purpose.
So what does doing it ourselves actually cost?
Say thirty companies, and say twenty minutes each per quarter to read the release, pull three lines off the cash flow statement, check the payout, and note the dividend action. That is ten hours a quarter, forty hours a year, before we have valued a single one of them.
Add the valuation work, and it is closer to eighty.
There is a second cost, and it is the expensive one. What we miss. The freeze that does not make the news, the payout ratio drifting from 60% to 85% over three quarters while nothing looks obviously wrong. I have been doing this for years, and I still found a three-year dividend freeze sitting inside my own Universe, and I found it because I was writing an issue, not because I was watching.
Here is the price against that.
$299 for the year, which works out to $24.92 a month ($299 / 12)
$369 is what it costs the rest of the time
Paid monthly, the same year runs $420 ($35 x 12), so $299 is 28.8% under that
The Prompt Pack alone covers $99 of it. Ten prompts that walk through a business, its financials, and whether the dividend holds up.
Join this week and $299 stays the price for as long as the membership runs.
Seven days free before anything is charged. Thirty days after that to change your mind.
Money well spent if you ask me.
Until next time, take care and be safe out there,
Dave
P.S. Closes tomorrow at 10 pm Eastern.
